Fios TV Voice Remote - on/off for TV doesn't work well

Hi - upgraded to the new Fios One boxes and remotes. I'm generally happy with the new service, but hate the remote - one some of our TVs it is ok, but on our main TV it often has trouble turning it on. Is this common? Is there any way to atttempt to manually program it like the old remotes?

FIOS One Mini Box- Sound Bar Set Up

No matter what I do I can't keep the voices synced up with the new FIOS one boxes, Sony Bravia TV and Sony HT-CT390 sound bar. FIOS box attached to HDMI-1 port. Sound Bar to HDMI-2 port (ARC) and within a 10-15 minutes the audio and picture are out of sync. I have tried the menu, changed to L-PCM and to pass through. All work tempoarly and then goes out of sync. Anyone know of a firmware update that will be out to fix this? Was thinking up updateding to a Sonos system but not going to spend all that money and have the same problems. Any help here?

FiOS TV One Voice Remote needs a lot of work

I just upgraded my Fios TV service to TV One.  I'm generally pleased.  I was especially pleased with the ease of the transition from the older VMS1100 STBs.  My one complaint is about the Voice Remote.  Arris (the manufacturer) took the minimalist approach and removed most of the buttons from the remote.  In my opinion, they went a little TOO FAR.  I want a STOP button (in addition to the PAUSE/PLAY button).  Why?  Consider this:  you're watching a recorded show, and either you don't like it, or it's at the end and you don't want to watch the end commercials.  On the old remote, you could simply press the STOP button.  You would be at the menu for the show that you were watching and could scroll down from RESUME to DELETE.  Easy.

 

How do you do it with the new remote?  You have to Press the MENU button, scroll UP to DVR, scroll RIGHT to VIEW RECORDINGS (if you have TWO DVRs, then you have to select which one), then scroll DOWN to the show that you were just watching, press OK, scroll down to DELETE.  This is just AWFUL.

 

I hope that Verizon modifies the code in the remote to make it easier to do SIMPLE TASKS for which there is no BUTTON.

I'm looking for input as to whether people are satisfied with the performance on the new Fios One DVR if you use it wirelessly instead of with coax.  Any problems recording 6 shows at once?  Any performance issues?

HDMI Audio Extractor

Hello,

 

I have an Epson projector that I would like to use with my FIOS STB.  When using an audio extractor, the video and audio feed fail to pass through the device to the projector.

 

I plugged the STB directly into the projector and it worked fine.  I plugged a fire stick into the extractor, and that worked fine too.

 

Question is has anyone else had this issue using an HDMI audio extractor, and if so, is there a specific brand that would work with Verizon?

Samsung TV FIOS Box Problems

We have a Samsung Smart TV (less than a year old) and a FIOS cable box. Someone touched a button or two and now the TV won't display anything but ACC Digital and a graphic display of folders (I believe channels).

 

We've got one Samsung remote and one FIOS remote.

 

Any suggestions? And yes, I know this is ridiculously simple but I'm out of town and can't solve this hands on myself.

No favs button, view last channels?

I just switched from xfinity. So far, Imiss the xfinity interface. I made a favorites list but there is no favorites button on the remote. How do i access my favorites list?

Is there a way to virw the last few channels watched or only to jump back to the last channel?

Set up Box Blinks on and off. TV not working.

For the last three days the Fios Set up box up-stairs is blinking on and off and the TV shows a screen menu and not a picture.

 

I re-attached all the connections.  It is still doing this. 

 

The Set up Box downstairs is working.  So this just relates to the one up-stairs.

 

I have been on the phone waiting to speak to an agent for the last three days to no avail.  I am losing my hair with this.  I need help with this fast. 

 

No sound from FIOS media server

Okay, I’m throwing in the towel and will admit that I need help and ideas.

As part of my FIOS service, I have an Arris VMS1100 media server with a few media client boxes.  Everything was working fine until a few weeks ago when the sound on the media server stopped working.  Picture yes, sound no.  The sound *works* on the media client boxes.


Did the following pretty much in this order to try and diagnose the issue. (1) checked sound settings on the TV and the media server, (2) cold power restart of the media server, (3) verified that the TV sound was working by playing a DVD, (4) switched HDMI cable for a known good composite video cable.  No sound.


Moved on to (5) swapping a media client box with the media server box.  Media client box produces sound with the TV and cables that were previously used by the media server.  The media server, now in place where the media client used to be and produced no sound.

 

(6) Found a reference to the secret configuration set up on the media server.  Hit power off on the media server and then left arrow to get to the secret configuration setup on the media server.  Went to the user setup screen, then to additional HDMI settings and set audio to the other options (Auto, LPCM and pass through).  No sound.


(7) Did a cold power restart of the ONT and the Gateway Router.  No sound on the media server.


So as unlikely as it sounds, I come to the conclusion that there’s a problem with the media server.  Verizon sends me a replacement media server.  I hook it up.  No sound.  I repeat all of the tests that I did above.  No sound with the media server.  Media client boxes work fine.


Does anyone have an idea on what I might do next, other than spending a lot of time on the phone trying to reach and then working with Verizon support?

i tried to call support which took about an hour to get through to a person. i told him how screwed up the tv listing page was and he told me i was the only one who has complained. so i asked to speak to a superviisor and after another hour on hold i got one who said the same thing. i asked him to log in and see for himself he said tech dosent have the abiliy to do that. can you believe that? i guess i pay too much for this service to get service!

My Library changes

I've noticed that the TV shows and moviesI bought are depicted in My Library with different titles. The actual shows are there but are under another name. Did anyone else have this problem?

 

software update on the tv won't disappear

the message says check software update and it's a big box which won't go away.

i tried to disable promotions but it doesn't work.

does anyone have a solution?


Does FIOS STB support 21:9?

I have a computer connected to a 27" monitor & a STB connected to a 23" monitor. I'm thinking about replacing both TVs with a bigger TV with 2 HDMI ports. I was browsing around the Best Buy website & saw a 34" 21:9 monitor.

 

Does the FIOS STB or the new TV One support 21:9? HMMM, I'm not even sure that my 2018 Mac mini supports 21:9! I'll have to ask Apple! Anyway, if FIOS doesn't support 21:9 there would be black bars on both sides of the 21:9 screen.

Two issues

Same as many others. Error code when trying to use the FiOS TV app (9-6-14-302-100) . Zero issues logging in on mobile or computer to account. Also cannot get STB to be discoverable by Alexa. STB is compatible per Verizon. . Almost done with my two years. 

Upgrade to Quantum Router and Fios TV One in Stages

I have 2 "Q" settop boxes & the Actiontec router, Rev. I.

 

I want to upgrade to the Quantum router & the TV Ones. I suppose that I can do the upgrade in stages. I suppose that the Quantum router works with the "Q" settop boxes, doesn't it?

Fios Netflix audio garbled

Using fios 1 set top box on both tvs. From server box there is no issue. Using satellite fios 1 set top box netflix is unwatchable. It loads. The video is fine But the audio is all garbled like some sort of compressed alien transmission. I have reset both boxes and the router. BTW I can use the tv's native Netflix app and it works fine. That's a hassle because then I need to use the Sony TV remote. Netflix works perfect on the main fios 1 set top. 

TV One mini wireless connection

Ongoing issue with my TV screen locking or pixelating.  Verizon technical support has done standard reboots on the main One box and the One mini, etc. which does not solve the issue.  “Everything looks ok” from their end.

 

Here is my setup:

Main TV One box on first floor connected to coax.  Wireless router on 2nd floor with One Mini across the room (perhaps 20 feet away) connected wirelessly.  This setup was done by Verizon onsite.

 

There is no coax connection at the TV location or I would have connected the TV One mini to coax weeks ago...

 

Note I have had no issues with the 1st floor TV connected to the main TV One box and no issues with WiFi connections on laptops, phones or my wireless printer.  There is no extender installed.

 

After over 3 weeks of issues since installation, a Verizon tech person came to my house yesterday and replaced the TV One mini.  Everything was working great.  The TV screen was no longer freezing/pixelating and I was very happy.  

 

Today (afternoon) the problems started again.  Note to that the freezing/pixelating is sporadic - might not happen for hours and then will happen for hours thereafter.

 

I pointed out to the tech person that when issues begin, the “link quality” is poor as shown on the Menu/settings/system/FIOS tv one mini settings/WiFi status.  “Video source quality” remains good.

 

The tech person told me that there have been issues with the wireless TV one mini connections since it was introduced in 2018.

 

Has anyone had this issue and, if so, how did you fix it?
