Remote channel up/down just brings up the channel info box

The remote has been working perfectly for years. Today, everything still works except for the up and down button for channels. Instead of flipping through the channels it instead just brings up the channel information box at the bottom - so it'll just bring up the small box on the bottom of the screen with the channel number, show name, description, and time. If I press in 550 it'll go to channel 550. If i'm on 549 and press channel up it'll stay on 549 and bring the information up for channel 549.

 

It never did this before and multiple remotes are doing it on the same tv so it's not the remote.

 

Any ideas?

 

 

Edit to add: It turns out that ALL of my boxes are doing this. I also can't press UP or DOWN on the box itself to change the channel. It is not a tv nor remote thing.

The Fios picture suddenly changed to a small picture in upper right hand corner and froze. I can't do anything with it.

 

Rebooted twice and it corrected....

FIOS TV One Mini won't connect/Activate

FIOS TV One Mini won't connect. Trying to setup and connect mini for first time. Getting error message = 8305-1. Won't "Activate" due to this error. It is telling me to connect the coaxial cable. I have done this. I have rebooted several times. I have rebooted the router (+) rebooted Fios TV One DVR (+) One Mini. Still no luck.

Just got the FIOS TV One DVR. I immediately noticed that the DVR button not on new FIOS TV One remote. Is there a quick way to get to the DVR or am I forced to use MENU/DVR?

FIOS TV One and home entertainment center

Hello, we are thinking of getting the FIOS TV One and Mini.  We are concerned how the new set top box will affect our entertainment center.  Currently, all our devices are controlled by our Logitech Harmony One remote.  Looking at the connections at the back of the Motorola HD QIP7100 1, we have the coax cable, HDMI, and power cord. The question is when we get the new FIOS TV One, will we just hook it up just like the Motorola? Do we have to reprogram our Harmony One remote to be able to connect to the new cable box? The Mini will be connected just to the TV, will just be using the remote that came with the Mini. Thanks for your help.

CAN'T WATCH RECORDER SHOWS

I RECENTLY ADDED THE ORBI WIFI SYSTEM TO MY VERIZON FIOS. HOWEVER, NOW MY WIFE CAN WATCH HER RECORDED DVR SHOWS ON HER IPAD. IT WAS RECOMMENDED THAT I TURN OFF THE INTERNET ON THE ROUTER ( IN SETTINGS)..... HOW CAN I FIXED THIS PROBLEM ?

TV Audio

House struck by lightning and blew out TV and Surround Sound system. Purchased and installed new TV with Sonos sound bar. Have random and intermittent issue with audio out of sync with picture. All Verizon hardware has been replaced and have tried multiple audio setting fixes with TV. Any help?

TV service has been out since Monday 7pm

My TV service has been out since 7pm. I can not get through to anyone on the phone. I was on hold Tues night for 2 hours and yesterday after 1 hr 10 minutes someone finally answered telling me the outage is from the central station and was to be restored by 9:30 last night... and then 9:00 tonight, and then 9:30 and now the last recorded message says 3:30am Friday 7/26.

 

I am beyond frustrated and upset that there is no customer service or any way to get any answers about when our service will be restored. We have been customers for over 20 years and I am ready to toss all 10 of my boxes and go to Comcast. I'm sure they will appreciate our business.

FIOS TV One STB 3.5mm Audio Out

I hope someone will see this post and have an idea. Here's what I have:

Kitchen TV has no audio out whatsoever. TV is connected and paired to FIOS TV One mini box. I have a pair of iHome computer speakers I'd like to use which have both USB and 3.5 mm connector. I turned tv speakers off on TV remote, changed volume on STB to variable. When speakers are connected to STB 3.5 mm audio out jack, I can hear the sound clear but loud. I cannot figure out how to control their volume. Mute, etc doesn't work either. I tried to select the additional speaker option on STB remote option but it wouldn't pair or recognize the iHome brand. I think that covers it. Thanks!

Insufficient Bandwidth Messages and Buffering Issue

I have 300/300 up and download speeds and a network extender 2 feet from my smart tv and both wifi connection and hard wired checked by a tech from Verizon who said it was all hooked up and connected correctly and still get messages saying insufficient bandwidth. I am able to watch both Amazon Prime movies and Netflix movies on my Vizio smart tv but once or twice a week after a message says "insufficient band width" and asks if I wish to continue, I respond yes. Another thing that happens on both Amazon and Netflix, when I first start a movie the picture quality is very very poor as it 'buffers' for the first 10 to 15 seconds. I am so frustrated. I have what is supposed to be one of the top smart tv's and the state of the art equipment with extremely fast connection speeds from the 'supposed best' provider, following their directions exactly, double checked in person by their tech and still I have band width messages. I am the only one using bandwidth in my home and I am only using one device at a time. Figure that one out ladies and gents!!

Problem Showing Just "Subscribed Channels"

I have all settings set to show "Subscribed Channels", but when I go through the channel guide I continue to get "All Channels". I worked through the commands I researched on the Interenet and went through them again with the Verizon Tech I chatted online with. In both cases, I ended up with "ALL Channels" showing up in the Guide even though the settings are set for "Subscribed Channels" only.  This problem has only just started up recently. Any insight or suggestions would be appreciated.

NBC HD 504 not working

Anyone else having this problem?  I can watch regular NBC (ch 4) and I can watch HD channels (e.g., Fox, 505), but NBC HD 504 isn't working at all.  It just bounces you back to the channel we were previously watching.

Renovating House - FiOS Coaxial Splitter Question

Hello All,

 

Here is a my scenario...We are in the process of constructing an addition above my existing split level ranch house.  I am pre-planning running new low-voltage wiring for both ethernet and coaxial.

 

I have a Verizon installed 8-way MoCA 2.0 splitter in my basement which is where by FiOS Router and ONT are both installed.  This 8-way splitter currently supplies two of the three existing bedrooms in the portion of the house that not being renovated.  The addition includes a fourth bedroom, which will require coaxial for an additional STB.

 

The issue I am having is the wall void that I used to run all my CAT5e and coaxial wires several years ago from the basement (FiOS) closet to the upper bedrooms has now been removed by the new construction.  Needless to say, I need to find a new way to supply all four bedrooms with coaxial.  Instead of running 4 brand-new coaxial homeruns from the basement closet, can I run ONE coaxial to a splitter in the new addition and supply the four bedrooms from it? I am basically asking if it is OK to split a coaxial connection twice?  I would also no longer need such a large (8-way) splitter in the basement closet because it would only be supplying one television in the lower portion of the home.

NEw vizio tv mute button not working

I just got a new vizio tv and on the fios remote the only function not working is mute. It worked on my old tv. I tried the fix but that did not work.
