How do I get to HBO On-demand??? Talk-to-remote doesn't understand. Can't find it in menu.

Title says it all. How the heck do I find HBO/Showtime On-Demand? I'm in NYC.

I keep getting Wifi connection failed (Error Code:4202-A02)

 

I just upgraded to the FioS TV One boxes. So far, I have had to connect two minis directly with Coax cable. Now I'm in the guest room and DETERMINED to get the mini to connet to wifi.

 

I have tried turning the router off and back on twice. Each time I retry the sequence, pressing the WPS button on the router and waiting for the mini to connect. Is there some way to do this manually? Can I just choose my router from a list and type in the password? This is ridiculous.

Netflix not working in 4K

I have the new Fios One boxes. When I set the resolution to 4K Netflix will not play any content regardless of resolution. If the STB is set to 1080p then Netflix will play everything. Has anyone else had this issue? Does Netflix support 4K through the Fios one STB?

Clear QAM stations only coming in 480i - recent change?

Does anyone know if Verizon recently changed the clear QAM stations in the Burlington, MA market?

 

I have a TV in the kitchen with a built in clear QAM tuner that has worked great for years, picking up the local stations in their native format, e.g., 720p or 1080i.

 

A couple of nights ago my wife called me at work to say that this TV was not working, but all other TV's were working fine.

 

I came home and did a re-scan and the TV found all the stations, but there are only coming in very low quality @ 480i.

 

Has anyone else run into this issue or have any information?

"Audio Only" on HD channnels

I have an lg smart tv with the cable going right into the tv.  (No box - our box is on a different tv inthe house.). In the past few days the low-def versions of the local channels work but the hi-def channels are mostly black with a floating box that says  “audio only.”  i can hear the audio perfecly fine but no picture.  Any thoughts as to what’s going on here?  This is in Westford, MA.  Thanks!

Wireless box wifi connection

I have a quick question, but first let me briefly describe my setup.

 

-Wireless router is on the 1st floor.

-One of the upstairs bedrooms has a PS4, so I put an extender in that room so the PS4 can connect via ethernet cable.

-The master bedroom is at the other end of the 2nd floor and has a wireless mini box, but it constantly freezes because its connected to the extender.  When I unplug the extender, it connects to the main router and works perfectly.

 

So my question is this: if I leave the extender running, can I manually select the main router as the signal the box connects to?

Netflix Crashing Fios TV One box

I upgraded to the FIOS TV One box.  However, every time I try to tune to channel 838 to watch Netflix, the box crashes.  I just keep getting a spining circle and the picture flashes (or it's black with the spinning symbol).  I am able to log into Netflix fine, but pretty much soon after when I select a profile (and I've tried multiple profiles), it crashes.  I'm forced to unplug and replug the box back in.  I swapped the set top box out thinking it was the issue with the box, but the new box is having the same issue.  I did not have this problem on my STB before the upgrade to FIOS One.  Also, Netflix seems to work fine on my Fios One Mini box, so it's just a problem with the main media server.  Any ideas???

Channel 576 is frozen. I cannot watch the Phillies game.  Other channels are fine of course. This is on both tv's , both STBs.

Question about UPS

I have a 55" Samsung TV & a FIOS STB Not the TV One but the "Q" STB.

 

I have an APC UPS rated at 480 watts. I bought it 6 months ago & already it's failing.

 

Anyway, today it started clicking. I bought it at Batteries & Bulbs in January 2019. Today, I took it back to Batteries & Bulbs. The battery was tested. It's fine. One of the people told me to try plugging stuff into the UPS to see if it would click. I tried & it didn't click. Their theory is that the UPS is overloaded. The TV is 166 watts & the FIOS STB is 42 watts. That's 208 watts, less than half of its maximum. My theory is that once the load on the UPS exceeds X watts, the UPS starts clicking. By the way, this is the second APC UPS to fail on me prematurely.

 

One of the employees told me that when FIOS installed his equipment, the tech told him that the equipment should not be plugged into a surge protector or a UPS. The equpiment should be plugged directly into a wall outlet. I want my TV & STB at least plugged into a surge protector if not a UPS.

 

Have you heard of such a thing? Does FIOS recommend plugging the STB directly into an outlet? I bought my TV in March of 2014. It & the STB have always been plugged into a UPS. I have only 2 outlets near my TV. I need more than 2 outlets to plug in the TV & STB & soundbar & subwoofer. So, I need at least a surge protector. What is your opinion?

FIOS TV One and Tivo

I currently have Fios and use the m cable-card in two Tivo DVRs.  Verizon chat and phone representatives could not answer my question about whether I can upgrade to Fios One TV, but continue to use cable cards in my Tivos instead of the Verizon DVR.  I want to have the increased internet speed from 100 mbs to 1,000 mbps, but I have 6 TB of storage on my tivos.

Errors 1201 and 1101

Ok Since my last post didn't go through,  Saturday everything was working till about 5pm est where we recieved a message when swapping to the TV that said "Unable to recieve Time" i did a on off of the VMS and then started having issues. 

 

Jump to after Customer care  chat. I was issued a new VMS and recieved it today, turns out that we are still recieving the same issue of 1201 and 1101 errors, along with "OOB not detected" messages and a failure on the In Home Network Test. What can I do to correct this issue without having Tech control come out here?

FiOS DVR App Access with Google Wifi Setup

Hello. Seen a few posts on this subject but wasn't able to find my exact situation. Here's my setup

  • FiOS "One" DVR box connected via ethernet cable to my quantum router (LAN) port
  • Another ethernet cable running from my quantum router to my Google Wifi primary access point WAN

Everything is working just fine with the exception of being able to access my DVR content. For some reason, I can't get the "media server" to come online. I'm able to see a list of my programs from the FiOS TV app but when selecting them (even on my own WiFi) I get a message around not being able to access the server. This also prevents me from downloading any DVR content to take with me on the go (a feature I used to love when I had Comcast). Does anyone know of how you should set this up? I've tried rebooting, refreshing.......plugging the DVR into the other Google WiFi port......all did not work. Any advice would be greatly appreciated Smiley Indifferent

was I lied to by Verizon to sell a service to get new equipment?

I have been with FIOS for over 8 years on a triple play plan that includes enhanced DVR, 50/50 internet, preferred HD and phone. I am 4 months from Verizon wanting me to renew. I saw ads on Tv that Tv One has made it to my area and I researched it a bit. I had a hard time with the quantum and enhanced boxes being slow and unresponsive but after equipment swaps and 2 other visits, I just accepted it. The One boxes I hear are much smoother and faster so I thought I would call to get the equipment replaced to the new TV One.  I heard some say they were allowed to upgrade for free with the 50.00 upgrade fee waved and some not so lucky so I was prepared for either outcome

Imagine my surprise when the chat rep told me all I had to do was upgrade to Premium DVR service for 10.00 more a month AND pay a 50.00 upgradation fee "whatever that is". for clarification I asked so you are saying I have to upgrade to a premium DVR to get the one boxes and he said YES. I advised to forget it and I did not want that service and he began to backtrack stating he would see fi he could get me the equipment without the upgrade and I just ended the chat as I had lost trust in the agent. Was he feeding be **bleep** trying to lie to sell me service I did not need?  Very upset and will likely need to rethink if I want to renew in November . What the heck

OnDemand Freezing

Anyone have any solutions on how to get OnDemand to work? It freezes and/or gets a weird digital lines on the screen.

 

Rented a movie but it won't play. No other OnDemand shows work either on both TVs connected to Fios. Regular TV and Internet are working ok.

 

I did the "unplug router for 10 seconds" dance routine, but no luck.

 

Not impressed with this "upgraded" Fios.

 

Was on hold for almost 30 minutes and bailed on that mess. And I thought Comcast was bad. Yeouch!


FIOS remote TV and STB power buttons

I used to have to press the STB and TV power buttons separately to turn on and off the TV's and set top boxes and now just pressing the STB button turns on both. If someone goes to turn them off and hits the TV power first and then the STB, the TV turns back on. Gets confusing when they get out of synch. Are there any settings on the remote or TV that would reset this to the way it used to work, pressing each one seperately? 

Verizon one question How do you switch from low def channel to high def channel ?

How do you switch from the low definition channel to the high definition channel of the same broadcast with Verizon one? There was a button on the old system's remote. Is there a voice command? Is there something in the menu? Is there a way to program it to be automatic?

Customer Service

Today was the worst experience I have ever had with customer service from a company the size of Verizon.  My TV service went out last night, 07/16/19 @ 9:00pm.  I called Verizon and after several attempts, the "operator" could not resolve the issue and advised me that someone from Tech Support would need to look into the issue.  But of course, Tech Support is not available at 9pm and I was told I would receive a call tomorrow, 07/17/19 at 7:00 am.  7:00 am came and went and sure enough, no call from Verizon.  I then placed a call to Verizon and remarkably they had no idea why I was calling?  I guess the "operator" from Tuesday night never entered anything on my account concerning the issue I was experiencing and I am sure never made whatever arrangements he said he would to ensure I would receive that 7am Tech Support phone call.

Now onto the phone call Wednesday with Tech Support - 

After several attempts to rectify the problem, the Tech was unable to determine why she could not get my TV service back on.  I was on the phone for over two hours.  Supervisors were consulted, several attempts were made while I was constantly placed on hold.  Finally another customer service rep was placed on the call with myself and the Tech Support rep and while she was speaking I could not hear a word she was saying.  The Tech Support had to relay / repeat everything she was telling me.  You are Verizon and I am a Verizon customer but you could not establish a clear line so that we could communicate.  Its almost comical if it wasn't so frustrating.  

In the end this was a Verizon issue and was resolved after the TWO HOURS spent on the phone.  I am beyond frustrated with the customer service from Verizon.  They want to to upgrade me to new set top boxes new router etc.  Seriously...spend more money on top of what I am already over spending on and this is the service you provide.

July 16, at about 11:30 AM, in Yorktown NY, a truck hit a pole and knocked out all service - TV, phone and internet, to a large number of homes in the area.  All we had for communication was our cell phone. It was very difficult to get through on the phone for support.  It's also very aggravating to hear a message to use the web site for support.  I'd use the website if I had internet service!  When we finally reach someone, the representative on the phone did not even know about the outage. He kept insisting it was just our house.  My husband had to urge him to check outages and then the rep confirmed the outage.  We were given a repair ticket number.  When I check the ticket on the Verizon web site, there is no information regarding the status.  It's been over 24 hours.  Verizon needs to improve their customer support and communications during outages.  I am very unhappy with the communication.

DVR Box turns on to FIOS News -501

We replaced all our boxes (2 SD and 2 HD DVR).  I have changed 3 of our 4 boxes.  The 2 SD boxes work perfectly.  The DVR box in the living room turns on to Channel 501 -- FIOS News.  I want it to turn on to whatever channel I was watching when I shut it off.

 

I went into settings and checked the option for the box to turn on to the last viewed channel.  It continues to turn on to 501.

 

How do I fix this?
