DVR recording issues

I am incredibly frustrated with my multi-room DVR. I have set to record several TV series. Very rarely does it actually record. When it does record, it plays for about 5 minutes, 10 at most. Then it cuts out completely as if the episode is over, even though it has only played for about 5-10 minutes. I have run the auto-fix and attempted to talk to a representative about this issue. It has not yet been resolved.Even though, I have an HD TV I have everything set to record in SD because I was told recording with HD could be the problem. It still doesn't work. According to the DVR display, My DVR is only 10% full. Has this happened to anyone else? Is this an issue with the box top that could be fixed by it being replaced?
