We have QIP 7216 dvr and western digital 1T eSata drive (I can't quickly find the model number but it was one on the Verizon recommended list).
The eSata is about 50 percent full. Some of the shows we recorded we can't seem to play. When we click on them, the screen freezes, then goes black, and after 20 seconds or so we get a menu of program options (resume play, play from start, delete, save until I delete). We can't rewind, fast forward, or skip forward or back. For the frozen shows, we can't watch any of it (ie, it freezes right at the start, not part of the way into the show). This has happened to 3 shows, two are 1 hr shows and one is half an hour. All are hd.
How do we play these frozen shows?
We haven't deleted the shows in case there's a disk problem (if there are bad parts of the disk, am thinking we will keep old shows on them instead of trying to record a new show and having the new show freeze). Is this pointless and we should just delete or should we keep the frozen shows?
