Set Top box error b.b:b.b

My Motorola QIP2500-3 showed error message err2.

Followed instructions and did a reset.

Now the display shows: 

  b.b:b.b 

      with

  messages light           on red

  on light                          on

  remote light                  on

Followed instructions: pressed Power and Select, unplugged, ....   Same error message.
