I recently installed a Quantum FIOS VMS1100 DVR and hooked up the composite output (Video (Yellow) and Audio (red and white) to the input of Panasonic DVD recorder. Then I have another composite cable from the Panny output to the TV. I can see the picture and have sound on the TV until I try to record. When I try to record to a DVD, the DVD recorder gives me an error message on the TV screen saying it can not record copyrighted material.
However, everything works fine when connected to a VCR. Only the DVD recorder has the issue. The same setup works fine with my Dish Network DVR connected to the Panny DVD recorder. The manual for the VMS1100 says it supports Macrovision copy protection. I know the Panasonic DMR-ES15 also has the Macrovision copy protection technology, so it this the source of my problem?
I have seen previous posts that say this connection possible. Does it still work for anyone?
Thanks
Ron
