VOD Skipping - Error VOD_174 FRUSTRATING

First the symptoms that have been repeatedly described on these forums.  While watching VOD on ANY channel on ANY set top box, VOD stream freezes, screen goes black, VOD commences at a later point in the show, repeat again and again and again.

 

Yes, EVERYTHING has been done, set top box and router resets, Verizon in home agent, cables replaced yada yada.

 

Not only done by me but also by Verizon technicians TWICE in two separate in home service appointments.  As a result, I have a new router, new boxes, coax cabling, and remotes (thank you.  My old remotes were pretty dated).  At this point I am paying for premium channels and a VOD service that is unuseable.  (I will take this opportunity to note that not once has Verizon offered any sort of service credit for this lost service).

 

All my internet related services other than VOD work excellently.  HD channels on live TV are stunning.  Upload and download speeds are phenominal.  Ping times are typicall 30-40ms  I can wipe out entire alien civilizations playing Destiny on PS4 without a glitch (except for that lovely outage caused by hackers over Christmas.  Happy holidays to you too Lizard Squad).

 

Theory:  The problem lies with Verizon's VOD servers that simply cannot handle the demand.  I can sometimes manage a complete VOD viewing at 2:00 AM without interruption.  It is IMPOSSIBLE to view VOD without interruption during prime time.  In short, it appears the VOD product is oversold and is most certainly not as promised.  It's a shame really as I am pleased with all my other Verizon services.  VOD however is anything but "on demand".

 

Frustrated in Boston.  How about you all?
