Several times the past weeks I missed the beginning of a show I wanted to watch because that {word filter avoidance} STB had to spend a few minutes updating. During that time it will show the current channel, but outright reject switching to a different channel.
Why aren't the STBs updated when they are in standby mode? Verizon can reboot the boxes and do all kinds of other stuff remotely, but apparently updating with blocking basically all functions only works when I turn it on? Push updates out to STBs when they are in standby. I don't mind if the box gets turned on remotely to accomplish that as long as you put it back to standby afterwards
