I am having a lot of trouble lately with the fios app. Today I keep getting this error message 9-6-24-306-999. I am not on my home network.

I have been  unable to get anything On Demand for a couple of months.  I always get the message "no programs available". What's going on?  STB problem?  On Demand Service discontinued?

4100 Box Freezes, Records with Audio Stutter

I'm having a tech come out in a couple of days as my 4100 box freezes constantly, recordes with stuttering in the audio... That is if it records my shows at all as many times it just decides not to at all (and yes I have verified my recording settings are correct even though there are so many insane amounts of options that are totally unnecessary and make it highly confusing and easy to mess up your attempted recordings). It (VMS4100 set-top box) also lags horribly or as I said just totally freezes for literally unimaginable amounts of time our of nowhere. I have gone through every possible troubleshooting menu in the app for both the set-top box and the ONT (AND my router) as well as endless convos with chat support. I almost never had to unplug, plug back in/reboot my Comcast/Xfinity X1 box the way I do with this FiOS set-top box. It's.freaking.maddening.

 

Hopefully it's something that can be figured out and fixed w/my tech visit. I see these videos on YouTube where people show their set-top boxes which seem to work instantly and with incredible speed...did I get one someone had in their house previously and dropped on the floor a bunch of times or something?

 

On a positive note I have to give mad kudos to the Verizon Representatives that respond through chat support, they really are great and wonderful people. Thank you so much for all your help even if it seems like I've contacted like a hundred times now only having had FiOS for 3 months...

 

One last side note here for this website...every time I select something that was a typo to fix it or review in this window the window scrolls all the way up to the top and makes me scroll all the way back to where I was again and or turns on like the "insert" function erasing what you wrote?!???  PLEASE FIX THIS moderators or people that do the code for this website?

Hopefully someone can help.....

Tried Verizon direct and they told me to contact the A/V Recvr mfr.  Ugh.

Just upgraded to FiOS One w/ one DVR VMS4100 box and 2 of the mini STBs.

The issue is ONLY with the DVR VMS4100 box, which is connected to a Denon AVRS540BT A/V Rcvr and an LG OLED65B9. 

 

When I power the system down, for any extended period of time - I lose audio when I turn it back on.  If I turn it off and then on within 10-15 mins - everything is ok.  If it is off overnight or all day - power on - no audio.  The only way I have found to get the audio to come back is to go into settings / audio and change the setting from FIXED to VARIABLE, power off then on and the audio comes back.  Works the same if I change it the other way too - from VARIABLE to FIXED, power off then on and audio is back.  UNBELIEVABLY frustrating. 

I also have a separate system in the basement - LG LX9500, FiOS One mini and a Sony A/V rcvr - no issues at all.  Same up stairs - Magnavox TV w/ Fios One mini STB - straight connection - no issues.

Is there a setting I am missing?  I have seen mention of accessing hidden settings menus & L-PCM or CEC settings....not even sure what those are.  

Help.

Low volume when using built in FIOS widgets: Youtube, Netflix

I have read old posts on this issue and really cannot find any solutions that work.

 

I have the X1 platform. Normal volume for watching FIOS programming is  acceptable. Way lower than  other providers I have used in the past.

 

The volume level using the FIOS YouTube and Netflix widgets is painfully low and muffled. I run from the X1 box through a 5.2 amplifier to my HDTV. All via HDMI.

 

When I stream YouTube and Netflix from my BD player and Roku the volume is stellar. I set my volume ( range is 0-60 on amp) to about 20-25 and it's loud and clear. When I use the widgets via FIOS I have to set my volume to 50-55 and it's still very low and poor quality. Unusable basically.

 

I have tried all audio setting: both variable with heavy and fixed set to 30 with heavy. No change at all. So  right now I have to steam Netflix and YouTube through other devices.

 

So basically the Netflix and YouTube widgets on FIOS are useless due to such low volume levels. And seeing that I have no issues when using ROKU and a smart BD player I know my setup is fine.

Basic Cable Channels in HD are completely screwed up on all TVs in house

Basically what the title says. Traditionally Basic tv channels (ABC, NBC, Fox, CBS, PBS, etc) are screwed up (audio and video) when on the HD channels. Channels work in SD and all other HD channels are unaffected (except Hallmark Channel which gets it to a much lesser degree that is barely affected). Any advice on how to relieve this issue would be appreciated. 


STB power

The STB power is turned off by the remote at night, within a few minutes the STB will turn on by itself.  How do I fix this?

DVR - On-Demand and recording playback start to freeze and the system becomes unresponsive having to power cycle it after 5-6 days of use.  This happens every week! 

Auto-Play has never appeared as an option on any recorded or on-demand series.

 

STB (both) - At times selecting Menu>Sports Guide the screen goes dark requiring power cycling the STB 2x to get the picture back.

Selecting Menu>On Demand results in a "Loading" dialog in the top right of the screen which never times out or completes requiring STB be power cycled.

 

Overall, the system is ok but needs work when compared to my previous DTV DVR and User Interface.

 

Zoom button on Fios TV One Remote

Is there a zoom button on the new remote? I like to watch sports zoomed in 1 or 2 levels (then will return to normal zoom for regular tv shows). The old remote had a button at the bottom to zoom (I think #). Any ideas?

On Demand Not Working with New Router

I just bought a used G1100 modem/router off ebay to use with my FIOS service. I connected it to my coax cable. The Internet works fine, but it does not look like on-demand is working. I assumed because I am connected through the same coax cable everyone would work as it did before, but that does not appear to be the case. Any insight?

 

Issue with Mini One after FIOS Extender Install?

A couple months ago I had FIOs installed in my new home. There was no coax on the main first floor so the technician installed the router and main cable box in the basement. I voiced concern at the time that it would be ideal to have the router and main cable box in our living room so that we could get solid wi -fi to both the second floor and the basement, but he assured me we would not have issues given the new router (G3100) strength.

He installed the main FIOS One box and router (G3100) in the basement where the coax is located. The FIOS One Mini was installed wirelessly at our main TV with an HDMI into the TV.

Within a week we were experiencing a weak network on the first and second floors and on occasion would get a message on the mini box that the signal was weak. After multiple calls to tech support which simply reset the router and boxes I opted to get an FIOS Extender (E3200). This was placed on the main floor where the mini box is located and is linked wirelessly to the main router in the basement.

Since installing the extender the wi-fi has dramatically improved on the first and second floors (we use the majority of our devices on the first floor). However, now the mini box is freezing, locking and/or or pixelating. Verizon tech support has done standard reboots on the main one box and the one mini, which does not solve the issue and keeps telling me that everything looks ok on their end.

Every time I go through the troubleshooting guide it either hangs on the connecting screen or I get an error code which reads: "Applications.Storage Initialization failed. Press OK to reboot your STB." When I do that, it just runs through the troubleshooting again and throws the same error code or hangs when saying connecting. (Photos of the errors attached)

Is the timing of installing the extender related to the mini having these problems?

The wi-fi is still working well and the main cable box in the basement is on and cable remains to stream fine to that TV.

Verizon is now suggesting I need to spend $150 on having a technician come out and install a coxial connection for the mini box and they don't have appointments until a month from now which means no TV on our main TV. This seems like it should have been taken care of at the initial installation particularly in light of us voicing concern to the technician at the time that we would like to have our router and main box on the main floor of our home and he told us it was not necessary.

We can not get voice sound on CNN and some other channels.  Some ads on other channels have no voice sounds.

NEW to FIOS - several Q's

Back to FIOS after some 3 yrs and this time I got the Gig connection and FIOS TV using the new FIOS One boxes (Main and Mini).

I have several questions:

 

1. A bit confused about how the new boxes communicate; the Main box is connected via splitter to coax and also to the Router via CAT6 cable. The Mini is connected only via coax. The manual says that MINI, if using wireless should be disconnected from all wires. Curious; Does the Mini pull the signal / wireless connection from the Router or from the Main Box ? What kind of protocol is used that you need to disconnect coax ? Can I watch 4K on my mini ? 

IS the main box getting the Broadcast signal from the Router or the Coax?

 

2. How to re-program my remote for a TV? I have accidentally confirmed that the TV is linked to the remote, while it was, in fact, NOT linked..... so now my remote controls the FIOS box and my receiver but it won't turn on or off the TV. When I re-link the remote via pressing the 0 and Pause - it only re-links with the box, but skips the TV and Receiver.

 

3. My up speed is higher than down..... this is odd. The delta is about 150Mbs

they both are super fast...so I am not really complaining per se.... but really weird that my d/l is about 750-800 and my u/l is 850-900 almost. Any ideas why??

HGTV GO sign in not working for Verizon fios

Signing into HGTV GO with Fios worked fine until this month.  Now, I get an endless loop of, "Please wait - we are verifying your account..."

 

Verizon Fios - please fix this. I am using a Kindle Fire, and sign in worked fine until beginning of March, so don't blame the device.  I can sign in fine to the Verizon app, so that's not the issue either.

 

If anybody in the community has a work-around for this, it would be appreciated.  Thanks.
