Verizon FIOS technician cut our coaxial line to other rooms!!! WHY!

I have a problem where my verizon fios was installed in one area of the room....however the technician cut our coaxial cable running into the other rooms in our apartment to be able to install it into the Verizon FIOS wall unit...**bleep**??? why? Sincee he cut the cable we can't use the line anymore unless we do some more customizations to it??

 

Anyways, the main issue is to gett the cable working again so that we can have FIOS TV in another room....

 

We may just plan on using the set-top-box and moving it to the different room....however since the technician cut the cable, now we are **bleep**...


Fraudulent PPV Charges

I've been charged for PPV that I did not order. I feel as though my account was hacked. I called Verizon and after speaking to the manager, she coldly and calmly explained how I was wrong and she was right. Now Verizon suspended my account until I pay the balance of six-hundred-something dollars, and there is nothing I can do about it. It's my word against theirs. 

 

This is not how a huge corporation should treat its customers. 

 

Guess what? I found another person who posted the EXACT SAME ISSUE during the same month! May 2015!

Now is Verizon going to say that both of these instances we are lying?

 

Someone please help me have these charges removed so I can continue paying for the Verizon service.

I was just told by your Verizon chat agent that if I buy a used Verizon tuner from ebay, you will activate it on my account and I would not have to pay a monthly hardware rental fee to use it. Is this correct?

 

I saved the chat session where he says that since my experience is that each person you talk to at Verizon to gives a totally different answer.

Dual TV Display/Mirror

I currently have FIOS in my house, 2 boxes upstairs and 1 box in the basement. I want to add a TV outside in my garage, just to use when I have people over. Is there a way to split the cable from somewhere inside my house and run it to the garage so I can mirror my picture onto the TV in the garage? I really don't want to add another Verizon box just to watch it very seldomly. Is there a way to get around this and mirror my picture from one of my TV's in the house to the TV in the garage?

(short version- can you use only a coax cable from HD box to TV for HD programming? I can't get it to work.)

 

Hello,

 

I have a Panasonic Viera TC-L24C3 in the spare bedroom.  I have a P2 HD box hooked up to it and have been running HD programming through an HDMI cord the past few weeks without problems.  All of my cable box settings are set to 1080 or HD etc...  today I tried to hook up a new Samsung Blu-Ray player via the HDMI port.  (I had to remove the HDMI from the cable box and instead i'm running a 3 foot coax cable (flex 6 awg 18) cable given me by Verizon with the new HD box.  So the Blu Ray player is using the only HDMI port and working fine..  however.. the cable is only running in SD 480 using just the coax cable.   There are no settings on the TV for this obviously.. it's all on the cable box that feeds the signal..  For the life of me I cannot figure out how to get HD picture through the standard coax cable.. or is the obvious solution that I can't?  can we not get HD with just the coax cable or do I have to use the colored component cables instead?  I haven't tried this coax connection on my other Tv's so I don't know.. I switched back to HDMI (cable box to tv directly) and immediately I get better sound (level 10 being normal instead of level 30 with the coax) and HD picture that fills the screen.. so I rule out the cable box settings being wrong and go back to coax from box to tv..  change my input away from HDMI to the TV label and i'm back to SD box looking picture..   does this sound familiar or can anyone suggest a place to start with this seemingly simple problem?  the Tv can obviously run HD picture and is a fairly new 16:9 TV from 2012.  But again regardless it runs HD perfectly through the HDMI.. I only have the one HDMI port that the new BD player requires..

 

Any suggestions would be appreciated

also, SD override on the box is set to 'off' and i'm only using HD channels, not SD.

 

the more I think about it though I'm wondering if I need component cables.. I just figured the signal was entering the HD box in HD and could exit it just the same through the same type of cable....  we just recently got HD boxes for the first time so i've always been just used to hooking the coax cable right to the back of the tv..

Labor Charges

My downstairs TV was not working. Ordered a new box still not working. The agent told me they would send someone to look at it. NEVER MENTIONED there would be a labor charge? Why are you charging your customers to fix somthing that is your responsibilty? Technican came and in two minutes said the spliter was bad. Verizon installed the spliter not me. So replacing it was your responsiblity. Now i have a charge for 91$ for labor. This is ridclous. I would like a refund or my service cancled. 

 

By fair business practices, you should have warned consumers first about the charges that will be made. In law firms, we are required to inform clients about the fees before a specific service is made. This is unfair and cannot be substantiated.

DVR SHOWS TEMP PAUSES AND FREEZES DURING PLAYBACK ON DVR SERVER BOX IN SAME ROOM. Recently switched to new FIOS Quantum servers and client boxes (another mistake I make with Fios).  Upgrade happened a few weeks ago and now recently when I play DVR back on SERVER box in same room it pauses and freezes.  ANY POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS?  (Besides having to go back to Verizon and standing in line again!)

I've got the Quantum Super-Slow Remote package which just got even slower after the uncalled for "upgrade" that now loads thumbnails and a snails pace.  I won't get into how much a step backwards this is from what was almost a usable GUI once they fixed it months ago. 

 

But what also  bugs me is that whenever I enter DVR menu I get a pop up advertisement for pay content.  I don't get it on my main box, only the little one in the kitchen.

 

Any idea how to get rid of this or why it only shows up on the little box and not my main server box?

 

I really hate this new GUI not only because it's now slower that the previous GUI ever was, but now it takes more keystrokes to do anything.  I wish there was a way to turn off Delete  confirmation for starters.  If I accidently delete something I can always retrieve it from the trash - so I don't need the hand holding on top of all the other delays.  The other gripe I have is that with the new DVR menu structure I can no longer delete an entire folder of shows using the same buttons.  I have to find the "C" button and delete from there.  Really stupid changes.

ir extender fpr vms 1100

I have been informed by Verizon Sales/Support that the IR Extender function has NOT been activated in either the VMS 1100 or the IPC 1100 P2 units. Both units do have IR extender connections on the back but do not function. Even the one that Verizon sells will not work according to Verizon. If you do find one that works I would be inteted in finding how you did a work around the issue

VMS 1100 Upconversion

I have a SUHD TV that upconverts to 4k quality. I need to turn off the upconversion on the VMS 1100 STB. The TV upconversion works better with a native signal. Does anyone know how to do this.

 

People at Verizon do not know if VMS 1100 upconverts. It does. So they are no help.

 

The VMS upconverts to 1080p60.

I recently opened an UltraViolet account and purchased the English HD/HDX versions of 4 movies online: Fury, Interstellar, Jupiter Ascending, and Lucy

 

I then linked my UV account to my FiOS account and tried things out.  Terrible results below.

 

On the FiOS web site:

  • Interstellar is greyed out; clicking it yields "We're sorry; the UltraViolet title you have selected is not authorized to be viewed on FiOS TV at this time. Please visit myuv.com for a list of alternate viewing options."
  • Fury, Jupiter Ascending, and Lucy show up in SD 

 

On my set top box:

  • Interstellar doesn't show up
  • Fury and Lucy show up in Spanish only (titles even say "(En Easpanol)")
  • Jupiter Ascending shows up as the DVS version (narrated for vision impaired) 

 

Opened a ticket with Verizon: After various relinks, resets, refreshes, etc. they said it's UltraViolet's fault

Opened another ticket with Verizon: They say it's either UltraViolet's fault or most movies just don't work this way.

 

Bottom line: FiOS / UV integration is currently junk. Wouldn't wast time with it.

I have the Triple Play bundle. For FIOS TV: I currently use HD HomeRun tuner and rent cable card. The tuner is hard-wired directly to the router.

 

I use a Mac mini, running Windows 8.1 so I can use Windows Media Center to watch and record live TV. I use my receiver to manage all the connections to the various devices (everything is using HDMI cables). Both the Mac mini and also the receiver are also hard-wired to connect directly to the router. Other notes about the setup: I have a Samsung Smart TV.

 

About 2 weeks ago, I started experiencing isssues with audio dropping in / out sporadically for any HD channels (broadcast network and subscription channels). However, it's been more frequent. I have made changes to the receiver settings for audio output, such that it's not Auto - but changed it to be DTS.

 

Since I do not have a set-top box, I would appreciate any recommendations.

No On Demand Services Work

We just moved and none of our on demand options work.  We get VOD_309 or that we don't have enough credit for free shows.  I called Verizon yesterday and was transferred and put on hold forever.  What needs to be done for this?

Does anyone know what is up with CMR?  Fios line was not buried more than 3 inches and got damaged. I reported the damage and was never given any information about cost or anything else.  Then I get a Bill from CMR for $800 and the job isn't even finished. I  have been trying to get this resolved for weeks but can't even get anyone on the phone. There is not even a description of the work that was done! Please Help!

Today I added a Western Digital WDBABT0010HBK-NESN ("My Book AV DVR Expander", 1TB eSATA) to a FIOS STB (Cisco CHS 435HDC). I connected the devices with everything powered down, then plugged in the drive, waited a few seconds for it to spin up, and then powered on the STB. No messages or prompts appeared on the STB, and going thru the menus, it was apparent that the STB did not recognize that it had an external drive connected.

 

I tried a few different things to try and prompt the STB to recognize the drive. Finally, I had success by disconnecting the signal cable and plugging it back in when both the drive and the STB were powered on. The STB displayed a message about the external drive (forget exactly what it was), something about confirming its use. After that it seemed to work fine. Both the internal drive and the external drive appeared in the Capacity page, for example.

 

So, it seems that one has to plug in the external drive while the STB is powered on. That was counter-intuitive to me, but I did some googling and apparently hot-plugging is OK with eSATA. Verizon recommends ejecting the external drive before disconnecting it.

I had a house sitter click OK on the remote for ESPN which I did not have in my "package"   My whole lineup changed, I get less channels and the bill went up $5.00 a month!  I called as soon as I returned home and told everyone what happened

basically I was told anyone changes something in your home you are responsible. They did give a discount of $4.00 so I'm only paying $1 more a month but it's for less channels than I signed up for.  I agree that you are responsible

but to change your monthly bill to MY credit card without any kind of verification??? That's just wrong!  I just wanted to

go back to what I had a 2 year contract for and was told that package was no longer available!  I just signed up for it in Feb and this happened the end of May.  Dealing with Verizon is a nightmare, talking to a live person is almost impossible
