Scenario: I am watching a currently recording program (either from the View Recordings list or in the buffer). Two programs are scheduled to start recording at the same time the program I am viewing ends. The time comes and a pop-up window displays asking whether I want to record both programs or cancel one. I select record both. Then I am kicked out of the show I am watching, and flipped to one of the two new shows. If I want to go back to what I was viewing, I have to enter the Recordings list, find my show, start it from the beginning, and search for where I left off when I was so rudely interrupted.
Why does this happen? Why doesn’t the DVR let me continue to watch my recorded program and automatically switch the tuners over to start recording the other shows? Is this an oversight, or does it have some fundamental reason like being unable to finalize the recording and dump the buffer without kicking me off first? If I have to get kicked out, can it at least remember where I left off and let me resume play?
