OnDemand Gating
Has anyone else heard anything from Verizon about this? Apparently, if you aren't in the Extreme HD or Ultimate HD package, you will lose some On Demand content (i.e. Free Movies) if you aren't subscribed to those channels. Anyone have any luck talking with Verizon about this issue? I was told by Customer Service that they don't restrict On Demand, but Technical Service told me they are 'gating' now.

Samsung TV
We were watching TV two nights ago and the phone rang. On the 2nd or 3rd ring when the caller ID would come on the screen, the TV blew. The screen went black and the power indicator light started blinking and would not go off until I unplugged the TV. Anyone ever heard of this. Could signal spike blown something in the TV?

Problems with my Verizon FioS box
Out of the blew, my cable box started working. When I got up this morning, the display said was cycling through some funky codes. First it would say "PLL", then "crc", then "dec", then "8888" and finally "FP6A". Anybody know what the problem is?

Has anyone connected an external DVR to their system?
It seems that to get more DVR storage Verizon wants a large upgrade fee. We already pay a large rental fee per month so has anyone had success adapting their own DVR to the system?

Scheduled program did not record
I scheduled a program to record on the MRDVR. The first time I scheduled the program, I scheduled it from the STB. I scheduled it to record first-runs. The program recorded, no problem.
This week, when I went to watch the recorded program, I saw it was not recorded. I checked the scheduled recordings and the program was not there. Yesterday, I scheduled the program again, this time from the MRDVR. Today when I checked it, the program again did not record.
I'm was thinking maybe the problem was the program does not broadcast the same time everyday, but then I remember it was recording the program at different times last week.
Any suggestions to what the problem is?

The remote app works well but when I try to watch live tv with Mobile App it said "Connection Error" How can I get this to work? Or does it?

Motorola 7216 - Sound turns off when fast forwarding or rewinding
Recently upgraded my DVR to the Motorola 7216 primarily for the larger DVR capacity. The problem I have is that with this STB if I fast forward or rewind a recording the sound cuts out. If I go to live TV the sound is still out. The only work-arounds I've discovered so far is to stop the recording or power-off/power-on. Not crisis stuff here but if I'm paying $17.00/month for this service I think it should work flawlessly.
My setup and settings are exacty the same (HDMI out to A/V receiver). All I did when upgrading is unplug the old unit and plug-in the new unit.
Any suggestions?

FiOS On Demand Issues
My wife and I haven't rented a movie from the FiOS On Demand in awhile. This isn't because FiOS has a bad selection--it's mostly because of the quality of the On Demand movies that we've rented in the past.
So our TV is a Samsung and it has the ability to run on 120hz, which I dislike greatly, so I only use the 60hz. Every other On Demand show/series/movie that we download that isn't the pay movies looks perfectly fine. However, when we pay for one of the new releases, the movie looks like it's trying to upconvert to 120hz even though I don't have that setting turned on through the TV.
That and there's a decent amount of pixelation which I guess could be from a few devices using the router's bandwidth at the same time, but even the variations of black in the screen for the new releases movies just looks crappy.
Any reason why this would be happening? Thanks!

When can NFL Red Zone be enabled?
When will NFL Red Zone be available to be activated? I want to avoid all the problems from last year when everyone was trying to activate it at the same time on the first sunday. Last year Verizon sent out the email on 8/25 telling people to activate (clearly no uses Verizon's email lol). I just went to the channel and it's still not enabled.

Multi-Room DVR - How Does It Work?
We previously had two DVRs - one upstairs, one downstairs. Yesterday we replaced the upstairs DVR with a QIP71001, which we understood would give us multi-room capability. After a few technical issues, we got the box up and running. When I choose "record" it asks me which DVR to record to and only gives me the choice of the downstairs DVR. I thought I would be able to record the show on the new upstairs DVR and then watch it downstairs. Obviously, I don't understand how this works. And I have been searching the internet for about an hour now and can't find anything quite this basic.
Main Question:
1. Does the QIP71001 have a hard drive? I.e., can I record a show on it?
Secondary Question:
2. Based on my commentary, is there anything else you can think of that might help me understand how this works?

Buggy Search Feature
Have been having problems with the search feature now for a couple of weeks, and wonder if anyone else is experiencing similar problems. When searching for a specific program, or using the saved searches and categories; the search is very slow. About a third of the time I end up getting an error message "search feature not available at this time, try again later." Tried rebooting my STB, and checking cable connections, but still have this problem.

Philips RC144 5302 / 00B Codes for Vizio E241-A1 LCD TV
Has anyone found a code that will allow the Philips remote control A / V button to to open the Input menu on the Vizio E241-A1 LCD TV and also allow the up down arrow buttons to switch between the input sources on the TV? I am using the following code > 1292 < and it allows only On/Off, Vol + / -, and Mute. Code 3145 does the same and none of the other codes listed work at all. Thank you in advance!

BBC America On Demand
Is BBC America On Demand not available any more to FIOS TV Prime HD subscribers? Although I couldn't watch all of BBC America, selected shows were on On Demand last week: now it says I can't get it without a quick code. And the Quick code is out of frame so I can't see it. What's up with that?

On Demand Fast Forwarding?
Is this serious that it's disabled on almost all on demand movies/tv?
I can understand it somewhat on the tv shows due to commercials and you can obviously make more money by forcing people to watch them but why not add a skip to next chapter or something?
I just watched a 2.5 hour movie last night, getting to about 45 minutes from the end, I stopped the play and was going to finish it tonight. I went to the movie, hit resume play and what do you know, it started right from the beginning. And to top that I now cannot fast forward (not even the pathetically slow 2x speed) at all. So my only options are re-watch the movie or watch it somewhere else. Why am I paying for that?
Seriously this is 2013. I could fast foward movies AND resume play before 2000.

Why are some BBC America episodes on VOD only offered in SD and not HD?
Why are some BBC America shows on VOD only offered in SD and not HD? Case in point is Copper; when you select an episode you are usually offered a choice between viewing the show in either SD or HD. However some episodes are only offered in SD which is not the ideal way to view anything on a HD 1080 widescreen TV. In fact it is annoying!!!
